I have Firefox 3 installed and I wanted to set up Firefox 2 for testing, so here's the process (quick and easy for XP):
- Downloaded Firefox 2 and install it into a folder named "Mozilla Firefox 2"
don't add any shortcuts (might overwrite your ff3 stuff) - Open the command line and run:
C:\Documents and Settings\admin>"\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox 2\firefox.exe" -profilemanager - Create a new profile, I called it "ff2" and open using that
the new profile will not have any of your bookmarks or add-ons, which is cool for testing - Now to create the shortcuts
- Go to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs
- Create a new folder named "Mozilla Firefox 2"
- Copy the contents of your former Mozilla Firefox Folder into the new folder
- Right click and edit the properties like so:
Target: "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox 2\firefox.exe" -P ff2
Start in: "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox 2"
